![]() ![]() The bog-standard LR is a bit harder to match up, but I think that the Sicaran Venator with heavy bolter sponsons probably fits the best. ![]() Obviously, that's not a perfect match or anything, but it's pretty dang close and 65 points cheaper! (and, honestly: the x3 heavy bolters seem to me to be better than the x2 hurricane bolters in a lot of situations.) If we compare the LR Crusader (with no Multi-Melta,) to the Sicaran Punisher with heavy-bolter sponsons: both have a large chain-gun style infantry killer, and both have a weight of bolter fire (x3 heavy bolters on the Sicaran, x2 hurricane bolters on the crusader). Both tend to die pretty quick to focused fire). They are durable, sure, but so is the Sicaran (at least: comparably so. But let's talk about that last one a second: does anyone reliably use LR's as transports anymore? I mean, at least in 8th, they were big ol fire magnets anyway, and by putting even MORE points into them you essentially just made them an even more irresistible target. I also know that you have to give up precious command points to use the Sicarans and that Sicaran's are not in any way transports and so fill a different battlefield role. I know, I know: the LR model is a bit bigger (and, I think, a little shorter too) so it's certainly not perfect. Would my land raiders make really good proxies for Sicaran Battle Tanks? Then I started to look at the similarities in model size, armament, ect. So, I was looking over Battlescribe recently and I started to compare them to the new rules for Sicaran Battle Tanks. Don't get me wrong: there are worse units out there (especially with the recent points drop to LR's) but they still just aren't that great for what they do. but what ISN'T so rad: land raiders themselves are just not that great. These days I actually own two (a standard and a crusader) and that is rad from a collector/fanboy perspective. It doesn't help that I have wanted to paint/own/play with them since I first got into the hobby as a kid. The presence of measurement and misclassification errors in data sets (present in most data sets, in my experience) are often wrongfully considered relatively unimportant. ![]() 2 To avoid such errors, studies with an explanatory aim may benefit from applying causal inference methodology. For instance, for a nonexperimental before-after study, a change in the health for some individuals over time is easily mistaken as evidence for the effectiveness of a particular curative treatment, which may just be caused by regression to the mean. This type of data is subject to factors that hamper our ability to distinguish between true causes of outcomes and mere correlations. Conversely, for many health-related research questions, nonexperimental data are the only viable source of information. 1 If the ultimate aim is to explain, the ideal design is often an experiment (eg, a randomized controlled trial). ![]() The subsequent planning of the collection of useful data and formulating adequate statistical analysis often becomes easier once it is clarified whether the ultimate aim is to predict, explain, or describe. As the starting point of all scientific endeavors, it is incontrovertibly important to clearly define the research questions and aims. ![]() ![]() Graphics-quality support: The Series X and Series S have the same basic graphics capabilities, including support for variable refresh rate, variable rate shading, and ray-traced visuals, though some games have already omitted ray tracing if you’re playing on a Series S.The Series X is designed for games with resolutions of up to 4K, while the Series S has less-powerful graphics hardware designed more for 1080p and sometimes 1440p visuals. We also think that makes the Series S an especially budget-conscious choice for younger kids, since the less expensive console and monthly membership add up to more games than a kid can play, so you have no need to buy new ones all the time. ![]() And anyone who mostly plays games from Xbox Game Pass-the monthly subscription service that provides access to hundreds of games, including new releases-probably won’t miss the disc drive. His self-sacrificing hero persona rules his character to the point that nothing he does surprises us, as readers we know that he will protect the wizarding community or die in the process. Harry Potter, the boy who lived, sacrificed himself book after book both physically and emotionally. But, is that true or fair? Let's look at the three important characters that I argue are flat. Whether you are reading or writing a book, looking into what makes up a character is engaging, meaningful and useful.įlat: the seemingly boring characters, the characters that are predictable, the ones readers barely give a second thought because everything about them is already written in the words of the narrative. Being a flat character does not mean they are a minor character. Each type of character affects a narrative different, but each type of character is still very important. On the other hand, a flat character is less dynamic with only one defining personality trait causing the reader not to be challenged when deciding the motives behind the character’s actions. A round character is similar to an actual person they have depth and more than one thing that defines his/her identity. Forster discusses two character types: round and flat. "Tell me" is a relatively direct way of asking a question, and adding "please" doesn't really soften this. It can make your question feel more like a demand than a request. I think in some circumstances, the imperative mood can come across as rude, because it's a very direct way of asking someone to do something.
